Zinc is an essential mineral for the body and is involved in regulating enzymes, providing anti-oxidant properties, and boosting the body’s natural health and overall immune system. Zinc is also recommended for its antibacterial properties which support the immune system and help to alleviate acne breakouts.
B1, B2, & B6 vitamins are essential vitamins, meaning the body requires them for normal cell function, growth and development. B vitamins can improve overall skin health and when combined with zinc, the vitamins help express estrogen breakdown and block dihydrotestosterone. This helps to balance hormones related to periodic acne breakouts while improving skin tone.
Vitamin D3 is linked directly to skin health. In its active form of calcitriol, it contributes to skin cell growth, repair, and metabolism preventing premature aging. Adequate levels of vitamin D3 help alleviate inflammation symptoms caused by acne and other dermatosis, such as psoriasis and eczema.
Quercetin is a common but powerful antioxidant found in citrus and other plants with the power to help alleviate symptoms caused by acne bacterium, Propionibacterium. This skin pathogen causes progression of acne related inflammation. Quercetin interferes with the bacteria by combating inflammation and redness caused while helping to reducing the duration of outbreaks through its antibacterial properties.
Bromelain extract is made from pineapple and exerts anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce redness, swelling, and irritation in the skin. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with sensitive or inflamed skin conditions. Due to its exfoliating and enzyme action, bromelain may help improve the appearance of dull and uneven skin by promoting cellular turnover and revealing fresher skin underneath.
Rosehip powder extract studies show improvement of aging-induced skin conditions. Rosehip effects the skin health by acting as an anti-inflammatory and regulates the production of sebum (skin oil). Rosehip properties also help to prevent whitehead and blackheads from forming due to it being comprised of linoleic acid.
Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) works with Vitamin C to build new, healthy tissues to normalize collagen formation and improve overall skin health.
Emblica Officianalis (“Gooseberry”) has been used for improvement in complexion, moisturizes the skin, cleanses the tissues of toxins, and supports immunity of the skin against acne. Gooseberry is also helpful in controlling excessive oil production.
French maritime pine bark can help protect collagen and promote skin elasticity in your skin. It is extremely rich in antioxidants and oligomeric procyanidin complexes exhibiting anti-bacterial effect against the bacteria found in acne, while reducing inflammation and hyperpigmentation, which may help to lessen the appearance of acne scars.
